Taking Some Time Away

February hiatus

Hello Love Thugs and other entities. A quick note to tell you I will be stepping away from the Stack for a little bit. I have paused billing on all paid subscribers for the month of February. I met with my neurology team a few days back and we are working on a plan to combat the return of some dystonia in my feet and overall brain fog. I’m avoiding screens as much as possible for a while as they burn through my window of cognitive clarity in no time.

I will be experimenting with a new transdermal medicine that I have to find the correct dosage by starting low and monitoring the results. I’ll also be starting Parkinson’s-specific physical therapy as well. I’ve opted out of all things that stress my brain for the next month so I can heal in peace and quiet. I am fortunate to be able to take this time to take care of myself.

I turned on the season premiere of “Shrinking” last night and was delighted to find Michael J Fox in the opening scene with Harrison Ford at the neurologist’s office. They both take on the motto “FUCK PARKINSON’S” and it becomes a bit of a war cry throughout the episode. It was just what I needed to embark on taking some recovery time.
